Home Remedies for Anemia

Anemia is a condition in which there is reduced oxygen delivery to the tissues. It may result from increased destruction of red cells, excessive blood loss, or decreased production of red cells. Persons with anemia may feel tired and fatigue easily, appear pale, develop a rapid heartbeat and become unusually short of breath.

Treating anemia with Natural Home Remedies

  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. of the tincture of Yellow dock root three times daily, or 1/2 to 1 tsp. of extract of Dandelion leaf and or root or two capsules twice daily, or Eat Dandelion greens in your salads.
  • Soak 10 currants overnight. Remove seeds and take it for 3-4 weeks in the morning This is very effective home remedy for anemia.

  • Consume a ripe banana with 1 tbsp of honey 2 times a day for anemia treatment.
  • An effective home remedy for anemia is - Take 1 Cup beetroot juice, 1 cup of apple juice, mixed with either sugar or honey once a day.
  • Blanch Nettle leaves and drink 3-4 cups daily.
  • Honey is very good for an anemic person because it helps increase the haemoglobin in the blood. It is rich in iron, copper and manganese.
  • Lettuce is another effective remedy for anemia. It contains considerable amount of iron and supplies a good form of vegetable haemoglobin.
  • The fruit and leaves of Ash Gourd are dried and powdered. A tsp of this powder is taken everyday with a glass of buttermilk.
  • Make a decoction with a tsp of liquorice powder and water and drink twice a day with some honey.
