Home Remedies for Acidity

When there is excess production of acid by the gastric glands of the stomach, it results in the condition known as acidity. Eating rich, spicy foods or having eaten too quickly when feeling stressed or rushed usually causes heart burn and acidity.

In lubricants, acidity denotes the presence of acid-type constituents whose concentration is usually defined in terms of total acid number. The constituents vary in nature and may or may not markedly influence the behavior of the lubricant.

Acidity Diet

Avoid pickles, vinegar, fried foods, hot spicy foods, chocolate, pastries, and raw salad vegetables like onion, radish, cabbage, and peppers. Cut down on alcohol since it increases stomach acidity, strong coffee and tea can cause irritation and fizzy drinks can produce wind.
